Storage and Usage Conditions for KRAFT Products

Storage Conditions

Metal profiles for suspended ceilings must be stored under conditions that protect them from corrosion and mechanical damage while preserving their appearance. Key storage requirements for such profiles include:

  1. Protection from Moisture and Condensation: Metal profiles are sensitive to moisture, which can cause corrosion. Therefore, store the profiles in dry rooms with optimal humidity levels (generally not exceeding 70%). Ensure rooms are well-ventilated to prevent condensation.
  2. Temperature Control: It is recommended to maintain a storage temperature between +5°C and +30°C to prevent sharp fluctuations that might cause condensation on the metal surface.
  3. Protection from Mechanical Damages: Store profiles on a flat surface or specialized pallets to prevent deformation and coating damage. It is desirable to use soft spacers between profiles to avoid scratches or other defects during storage.
  4. Avoid Aggressive Chemicals: Do not store profiles near substances emitting corrosive vapors, such as acids, alkalis, or solvents, to prevent chemical damage.
  5. Shield from Direct Sunlight: Direct sunlight can cause temperature-related deformations and damage decorative coatings. Store profiles in areas protected from direct sunlight.
  6. Packaging: Open-cell suspended ceiling profiles are typically supplied in factory packaging. It is recommended to keep them in their original packaging until installation to provide additional protection from dust and mechanical damage.

Following these storage guidelines ensures that open-cell suspended ceiling profiles maintain their visual appeal and functional properties until installation.

Usage Conditions

To ensure the correct use of metal profiles for open-cell type suspended ceilings, it is important to follow several key conditions, which are essential to maintain the reliability and durability of the structure:

  1. Temperature Range: It is recommended to use profiles in rooms with temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Extremes outside this range may compromise metal strength or cause changes in geometry.
  2. Humidity Levels: Maintain humidity levels below 70% in the installation area. Higher humidity may result in corrosion, even on coated profiles.
  3. Proper Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in rooms with open-cell type suspended ceilings to avoid condensation on the metal. This ceiling design is commonly used in spaces with high ventilation needs, as its open structure allows for efficient airflow.
  4. Avoid Mechanical Loads: It is necessary to avoid significant mechanical loads or impacts on the profiles during installation and use to avoid deformation or damage to decorative coatings.
  5. No Aggressive Environments: Do not install metal profiles in areas exposed to corrosive substances such as acid, alkali, or salt vapors, as they can accelerate corrosion and degrade the structure.
  6. Regular Cleaning: Profiles need to be cleaned from dust and other contaminants to maintain the aesthetic appearance of a suspended ceiling. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaning agents.

By adhering to these conditions, you can ensure the long-term reliability, functionality, and appearance of open-cell suspended ceiling profiles.
